Sadly, the effects of advertising and the availability of soft drinks are taking a toll on the inherent improvement of out children. Not only are they not receiving the condition benefits of proper hydration they are damaging their developing bodies with chemicals.
They are not to blame because they are only copying the behaviour of the adults around them. Do you have a glass of fresh water on your break? Do you reach for a cup of coffee? Most of us will have to admit to the coffee. An adult will normally benefit in the short run from a cup of coffee. This benefit can be good as long as it is not abused. You should have no more than two or three cups of coffee per day. Try to alternate your coffee with water. Keep a glass of water around and sip as you work. You may be surprised at how much more alert you are. Our brain needs the hydration the water supplies.
Many schools let children take water to class to sip, as they need it. They have found a confident consequent in the alertness of the students. Encourage your children to drink while the day, while doing homework and while on the computer or watching the television. See they drink while sporting activities and afterwards. Encourage them to take benefit of our plentiful supplies of fresh drinking water and originate good habits for life.
